Layers of Fear 3 Revealed! Bloober Team is expanding its horror multiverse with new games and cross media content!

The wait is over. On the 10th anniversary of the original Layers of Fear release, Bloober Team has announced Layers of Fear 3, marking a chilling new chapter for its beloved psychological horror franchise. What began as a mysterious countdown earlier this year - set to end on February 15, 2026 - has come full circle with the reveal of the next installment. The surprise doesn’t end there: the Layers of Fear universe is expanding beyond video games, with books and music!

It’s been ten years since Layers of Fear first stole the hearts of horror fans, captivating players with its unique brand of hidden, psychological terror. Blending story-driven exploration, environmental puzzles, and mind-bending horror, the franchise quickly became a standout first-person experience, immersing players in a chilling yet hauntingly beautiful atmosphere. The original Layers of Fear helped Bloober Team discover its creative identity and establish itself as a master of psychological horror, laying out a foundation for its future titles.

Over the past decade, the games’ universe has expanded with several new entries: Layers of Fear (2016), Layers of Fear 2 (2019), and Layers of Fear (2023), which combines the previous two titles accompanied by DLCs - Inheritance and The Final Note. Most recently, on December 19th, 2025, Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition was launched on the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusively, completing the saga’s all-console releases.

Layers of Fear 3 Announced in Mysterious New Trailer

Now a new story begins! During a special anniversary stream, the new title Layers of Fear 3 was revealed with an enigmatic live-action teaser trailer. It opens with the haunting lines of “The Sick Rose” by William Blake, offering little in the way of details, but the signature soundtrack is unmistakable. The unique visual storytelling in the trailer conveys some hidden hints, that we hope Layers of Fear greatest fans can decipher in the upcoming days. The video closes with the classic Layers of Fear 3 logo. Fans of the series, stay alert… the nightmare is incoming, stronger and more twisted than ever before!

Layers of Fear is a franchise coming straight from our hearts and a beloved Bloobers’ Team story. The one that we keep on narrating since decade, it was the project that shaped our studio’s identity and set us on the path of crafting unforgettable psychological horror experiences. Ten years have passed, but we’re far from saying the last word - now we are revealing something new in the franchise. We hope it will plant a seed of excitement for the fans of this title.

Even more surprises lurk in the beloved Layers of Fear universe

But the surprises don’t end there. During a special stream celebrating the 10th anniversary, fans were treated to a glimpse of what’s next: a series of new attractions, including a series of novels, Vinyl and CDs edition and a unique project born from a passion for compelling storytelling. At the showcase, a landmark collaboration was unveiled between a renowned polish publishing house - Foksal Publishing Group (Grupa Wydawnicza Foksal) and Bloober Team. The first fruit of this partnership, set for release at the end of 2026, is a chilling horror novel by the multitalented Marta Bijan - horror writer, poet, vocalist (X Factor finalist), and gamer - plunging readers deep into the eerie and haunting world of Layers of Fear. This collaboration with Marta is a great opportunity to reach a new generation of horror fans.

During the stream, Bloober, in collaboration with Warner Music Poland, announced the release of the soundtracks for Layers of Fear, The Medium, and Cronos: The New Dawn in both digital and physical editions. A treat for fans of Arkadiusz Reikowski - the award-winning composer behind these haunting scores. All our exquisite soundtracks will soon be available in a rich, collectors Vinyl and CD edition across the distribution network of our partner.
