Get ready: Cronos: The New Dawn launches on September 5th – and players will uncover the story in real time, side by side with the Traveler.
Cronos: The New Dawn is a third-person survival horror game created by the renowned horror studio Bloober Team, best known for the critically acclaimed SILENT HILL 2 Remake. Built around a powerful and original narrative, the entire story unfolds in New Dawn, inspired by Nowa Huta — a district of Kraków, Poland — presented across two contrasting timelines: a post-apocalyptic future and its industrial reality in the 1980s. This unique setting blends gritty retro realism with dystopian science fiction and retrofuturistic atmosphere, creating a deeply immersive world filled with tension and mystery.
At the heart of the story is the mysterious Traveler — a figure central to the fate of humanity. As the game’s release approaches, the development team — Klaudia Sewera, Game Producer, and Grzegorz Like, Lead Narrative Designer and Lead Writer — unveils more about the game’s complex narrative in a new episode of the Dev Diary: how souls are extracted, who must be chosen, and what the true purpose of the Travelers is. This isn’t just a horror story — it’s a journey through time, identity, and the haunting remains of a broken world.
Additionally, players will become more familiar with a new character: the Warden, first introduced in the recent, standout story trailer (watch the story trailer here) — an enigmatic Traveler whose presence and philosophy stand in stark contrast to those of the protagonist. Voiced by Alan Turkington, the Warden oversees the tools and maintains the hub where players spend much of their time throughout the game
Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled for release on September 5, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®5, PC (via Steam and Epic), and Switch 2.
