During this year's Digital Dragons gala Bloober Team wins big, sweeping 3 major categories: Best Polish Original Soundtrack, Best Polish Game Design and Best Polish Game.
Digital Dragons is one of the largest B2B gamedev conferences in Europe, organized by the Kraków Technology Park for 10 years now. Besides lectures and panel discussions the highlight of the programme is the annual gala which honours the best Polish and foreign games.
Bloober Team's game: The Medium competed against other esteemed Polish games like: The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos (The Chronicles of Myrtana Team), Chernobylite (The Farm 51), Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 (Red Dot Games) and Growing Up (Vile Monarch). Apart from the main statuette, the latest game from the Krakow studio also received awards in the "Best Polish Design" and "Best Polish Original Soundtrack" categories.
The Medium is a horror game set in the 1990s, in the fictional, abandoned Niwa Hotel in Krakow. In the production, players become Marianna, the medium, who is on her way to unraveling the mystery of the death of an innocent child. The excellent visuals, reflecting dystopian surrealism, were inspired by the works of Zdzisław Beksiński, while the original soundtrack was created by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka.
Receiving awards in three categories, including the most important one, is undoubtedly a beautiful culmination of intensive work on the title. The Medium and its success confirmed our belief that horror is in our DNA, and with every new project we can reach for even more. I'm proud of this game and the whole team that made solutions that seemed impossible at first, completely achievable for us.
Piotr Babieno, Bloober Team's CEO.
The 10th anniversary Digital Dragons gala took place at the ICE Congress Centre in Krakow. The speical gala was hosted by Polsat Games journalists, and the event will be aired on the channel on May 27.
